Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at the Maharashtra Police Headquarters, the actor narrated how an online predator tried to exploit his daughter while she was playing a video game.

Akshay stressed that this incident reflects the dark side of online gaming. While video games entertain millions of children worldwide, they also open doors to predators who use anonymity to manipulate young players. According to him, this growing danger calls for immediate awareness among students, parents, and schools.

Actor Urges Cyber Education in Schools

During his address, Akshay urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take proactive steps by including cyber safety lessons in school curricula for students in classes 7 to 10. He suggested a weekly “cyber period” that would train children to recognize red flags, handle online threats responsibly, and protect their digital identity.

“This type of crime is increasing faster than street crime,” Akshay warned. “If we don’t educate our children now, the risks will only multiply.”

The event also featured CM Devendra Fadnavis, DGP Rashmi Shukla, IPS officer Iqbal Singh Chahal, and actress Rani Mukerji, all of whom echoed the urgency of stronger cyber laws and awareness programs.
